This is like another season break honestly!

Daviepool87

{Ed001's Note - it is a long gap. I have a feeling that they will put more races in for next season so there won't be the gaps. Though we will then have the drivers whining about how hard it is for the poor dears. Strange how they find one race weekend every couple of weeks such hard work but other racing drivers will drive about 20 races a day at Goodwood. In the 60s etc the drivers would be doing multiple race series a year and so jumping from car to car. They never found it to be too mentally tiring and it was much more physical then without power steering. Modern day drivers are spoilt.}

It does seem in sports the more money involved the more prima Donnas we get.
But I bet the rookies wouldn't complain racing every week.

{Ed001's Note - exactly and what do the drivers do the moment they retire from F1? They go and join as many other racing series as they can! I do have a lot of sympathy with the mechanics and engineers who actually do work incredibly long hours and very hard. But not the drivers.}

2.) 08 Apr 2021 18:05:48
Yea I've heard the mechanics and engineers don't get to enjoy the country's they're at, from the day they arrive till the end of race on Sunday it's build the garage etc then dismantle it.
Its really nice to see Lando and George help with the dismantle to feel closer to the team.

{Ed001's Note - those two I like a lot as drivers because they do build a relationship with the engineers. That is something Hamilton did very well too, it is part of the edge he has over the rest, the garage wants him to win on a personal level. Unlike some others in recent years, such as Fernando Alonso.}

3.) 08 Apr 2021 18:16:17
Only other person Incan think of that the engineers feel that way about is Danny ric.

{Ed001's Note - Schumacher snr was another.}

4.) 08 Apr 2021 19:59:51
Hopefully Schumacher jnr is the same, it's easier to like a driver when they seem more down to earth less prima Donna like.

{Ed001's Note - agreed, I think that is why so many people hate Hamilton because they think he is flash. Image plays a big part and his is aimed at the USA.}

5.) 09 Apr 2021 16:10:54
Aren't most elite athletes flash though mate? I think the hate towards Hamilton is more to do with the fact that he keeps winning and that riles people for some reason.
The most normal bloke on the whole grid, atleast from what I see on TV seems to Danny ric.
Personally, I love Kimi. Dude has hilarious radio conversations😂.

{Ed001's Note - you may have a point there truered. I am with you on those.}

Its Going to be a loooong three weeks.

Daviepool87

{Ed001's Note - it's only two now mate. Two from tomorrow anyway.}

Here was me thinking max had matured by giving up the place he gained illegally.
"Why didn't you just let me go man, I could have easily pulled back those five seconds, I prefer to lose a win like that, than be second like this"
Didn't hear that on the radio Sunday.

Daviepool87

{Ed001's Note - I did say he wanted to take the five seconds, that's why I hate that penalty. It is not a deterrent.}

1.) 30 Mar 2021 19:07:55
Think I lost that in the shock we had someone else posting 😂😂.

{Ed001's Note - I had to double-take and check I wasn't seeing things myself!}

2.) 30 Mar 2021 19:16:42
Was thinking the would have to be changed to ed and daviepool talk nonsense page.

{Ed001's Note - there is already a radiostation with a name that seems to have a similar kind of meaning. Except it isn't just exclusively for us to talk nonsense on that...}

3.) 30 Mar 2021 19:32:19
Well that's just not fair!

{Ed001's Note - we will just have to stick with F1 page for now.}

4.) 31 Mar 2021 08:46:02
Haha, sorry for being the third wheel guys. Guess you guys will have to live with it😅
To think I've been going through the Liverpool pages for almost a decade and had no idea there is an f1 page.

{Ed001's Note - nice to have you aboard mate, I was beginning to think Davie was a figment of my imagination and there was no F1 page myself....}

5.) 31 Mar 2021 10:44:07
Always happy to have Another onboard the crazy Train.

{Ed001's Note - it's not a true crazy train if you aren't saying "Choo-Choo" while typing that....}

6.) 31 Mar 2021 10:58:35
Whoo whoo!

{Ed001's Note - I bet you did the arms as well! Or it might just be me who did that...}

The argument, to which I subscribe, is you cannot call one permissible and the other not. If you’re allowed to run there alone it’s part of the track and you can pass there. If you can’t pass there it’s not part of the track and driving on it should be penalised at all times.
Will Buxton tweeted this and I kinda agree.

Daviepool87

{Ed001's Note - I do agree, except they did start giving out warnings for running on it partway through the race. So it is still just down to the officials being wishy-washy on enforcement, rather than it being allowed. In my opinion, the officials just hadn't been watching for it until Red Bull brought it to their attention by telling Verstappen to use it as Hamilton was doing so. It was just after that they gave Hamilton the warning.}

1.) 29 Mar 2021 18:58:02
I think that's the frustrating part I don't blame Hamilton as he even said to bono that he'd been doing it all race why now? .
The fact the stewards were lazy it's caused this confusion of the rules .
Either allow it or enforce it from the start.

{Ed001's Note - exactly. The ironic thing is that Red Bull complained about it and then it cost them when it mattered. But it should not have needed a complaint. It is a pet hate of mine when watching races to be honest. There is no point setting out a track if cars are not going to adhere to it, I mean going outside is only a step away from cutting across the middle and missing out a whole chunk of the lap. You should either follow the track as it is laid out or be penalised.}

2.) 29 Mar 2021 19:09:47
Its a brundle said at the weekend stop involving the drivers . If they do that they'll start using the medical car shortcut. Drivers will always make their own lines so stamps it out .
And I agree.

{Ed001's Note - fully agree. If they could get away with it they would cut every corner on the track. I don't understand why drivers and manufacturers are involved in rule-making anyway. They should just abide by the rules, not choose them. Rules should always be set by an independent body. And that goes for any sport or game.}

There are some salty Lewis Hamilton haters on twitter this morning.
People who don't seem to understand the rules of overtaking off track.

Daviepool87

{Ed001's Note - some people just don't like him and I don't know why, no matter what he does he gets grief for it.}

1.) 29 Mar 2021 11:27:36
I agree Hamilton was good yesterday and the win was well deserved. However I'm more pissed at the match direction. The rules regarding track limits need to be black and white, there can't be a grey area. Lewis did gain an advantage by constantly going wide at turn 4 for multiple laps. In my view that did allow him to improve his times a tenth of a second every lap.
The race however was lost by a mixture Verstappens over eagerness and redbulls risky late pit strategy. The lad should have waited a a little while longer before making his move. He didn't need to do it at turn 4.
PS: Given that finally redbull have a bloody fine second driver, the contructor title is redbulls to lose given how much of a poor driver Bottas is. Hamilton vs Verstappen is close. Bottas vs Checo is going only one way.

{Ed001's Note - the rules regarding track limits are black and white. It is, as usual, the application of the rules that causes the problems. The track limits should be adhered to at every corner on every track, but the stewards are lazy and allow certain corners to become 'negotiable'. The overtake is a different thing, they always enforce that and Verstappen knew that, he was just hoping they would simply give him a 5 second time penalty instead. Personally I don't think they should ever give a 5 second penalty unless it is the final lap or the driver doesn't have a chance to give the place back. There have been a number of races a driver has managed to gain extra points by overtaking off the track and just taking the 5 second penalty, as gifting the place back costs the 5 seconds plus you then have to overtake all over again.}

2.) 29 Mar 2021 12:48:20
Agreed on the 5 sec penalt. That's just useless, if the guy overtaking has fresher tyres and has enough time to extend the lead.
One thing's for sure, Verstappen is going mature a hell of a as a driver.
Also a slot out to Leclerc, he looks good.

{Ed001's Note - it is going to be good to see the Leclerc/Verstappen rivalry grow in the future.}
